SYNOPSIS
OVERVIEW
HYPERxFANTASY is an experimental narrative RPG set in a brutalist dystopian underworld teetering on the edge of digital ascension. As Dreamer, players navigate an endless megastructure, using a versatile glider to traverse its vast, abstract spaces and advance non-linear storylines through branching dialogue. Tasked by the enigmatic Executor to "digitize everyone" and save them, players will soon question the cult-like hierarchy of this desolate dreamscape, uncovering a conspiracy at the core of the Singularity itself.
Gameplay seamlessly blends dynamic exploration, tension-filled directional swordplay, and innovative narrative mechanics. As the game progresses, its surreal storytelling is elevated through unexpected shifts, from interactive "choose your own adventure" segments to striking 2D sequences that mirror the world’s gradual digitization.
Themes of existentialism, transhumanism, and evolution are woven ambiently into the experience, allowing players to immerse themselves in its philosophical underpinnings without overt exposition. Influenced by the cinematic grandeur of Denis Villeneuve (Blade Runner 2049, Dune), the hypnotic color palettes of Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive, The Neon Demon), and the avant-garde visuals of Specter Berlin, the game juxtaposes oppressive, shadowy environments with bursts of vivid color and striking silhouettes.
